 Poker Faced

There is a common myth that all card games are purely those of chance, and that although there is a knowledge required to know the game well enough to play, if the cards do not fall in your favor then you are going to lose. Well, nearly every poker player will tell you that it is the complete opposite and that poker is game of skill and manipulation, a science even, and when you can utilize the game well enough then you can easily dictate the situation.

Poker is one of the few games that can allow for the possibility that the worst hand might actually win the round. This is more down to the fact you are playing the opposition rather than the cards. It is quite easy to follow the game and work out the correct hands, what is more difficult is second guessing someone else.

The art of a good poker player is the reading of the opposition whilst not allowing your style to become evident.   This can be done very simply and quite subtly when online, basically a table will not be aware if you are simply watching. You can watch each player for sometime and take note of any nuances in their game. You need to be a little careful though; if there is only one space left, someone might come in and take it. There could of course already be somebody watching, so do not take too long. When a table is full, it can be like this for a few hours, and I am sure that you do not want to be waiting around that long.

When you get into the game, remember that all eyes will be on you. Vary your game plan for up to five hands. If others are looking to read your play, then you should not allow them any chances of winning. By doing this, they will think you a novice and inexperienced. Thus, when you remain at the table it will be in somewhat anonymity, and then when you have the play you need, you can hit the others for whatever is possible. There are specific moments when you ought to play the cards and other moments where you ought to play the people. A good poker player recognizes this; a great player will actually do something about it!

Poker is now a big business; it comes in many forms. What is for sure is that when you begin to play, you will need to take action and learn all that can be learned
