There are times when you are gambling when the world seems against you. You feel that there is no choice but to play through this and turn it all around, win back what you have lost then look at making that serious money. Then there are other times when everything is simply going your way, you have the golden touch, every bet is a winner. You can do no wrong, the thought of leaving now is just incomprehensible, and you may never have a streak like this again.
Strange isn’t it, that fact that if you are losing or winning the thought of leaving the casino never really enters your mind. Why is that? Why do some people have problems with knowing when to quit?
These are the signs of the compulsive gambler; the person who has the urge to bet just for betting’s sake. There will always be a reason to continue, and mark my words, this is a problem. If it is not at a critical point already (and it probably is), then it will be very soon.
So how can you spot whether that person is you? It is very easy to see this in someone else but we rarely turn the spotlight on ourselves do we?
If your every sentence and thought revolves around gambling, this is a sure fire sign. When you are not gambling you are thinking about it, when you are gambling you are thinking about gambling tomorrow etc etc. If that is you then you are addicted and you are a compulsive gambler.
Where you once had a budget or figure you would play to, this has now gone out of the window. There is no thrill there anymore; it is all about the actual process. The time that occupies the gambling activity grows more and more each day, if you could afford it you wouldn’t even sleep. You are an addict, a compulsive gambler, so seek help now.
You just can’t stop no matter what the situation, you could be up a few thousand or down a few thousand, it doesn’t matter, the game is everything. The outside world no longer exists in here and all those problems just don’t matter. You are an addict, you must stop. This is compulsive gambling of the most serious kind!
There are many people that are compulsive gamblers, they are on a path of self destruction, and even if they win big, they will keep coming back, and they will then end up loosing. That is the nature of the beast. So it is up to you to budget yourself and stick to your limits.
